I would use more sugar. Either 3/4 or 1 cup.
Ingredients
1 lb. broad noodles
1/2 cup sugar
1 lb. cottage cheese
1.5 t. vanilla
7 large eggs
3 cups regular milk
1 pt. sour cream
1/4 lb. melted butter
1 cup golden raisins
Topping:
1/2 cup finely crushed corn flakes
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. sugar

Instructions
Mix all together in large bowl.
Pour into lightly greased casserole.
Cover tightly and put in fridge overnite.
Before baking mix corn flakes, cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle over top.
Dot top lightly with butter.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1-1.25 hours until golden (do ot cover while baking).
