Oriental Salad by
Ingredients
1 package ( 3 ounces ) instant chicken flavored oriental noodles ( Ramen etc)
1/2 head cabbage, chopped
4 green onions-sliced into small pieces ( white part only)
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
2 tablespoons toasted sunflower seeds
1/3 cup vegetable or peanut oil
3 tablespoons vinegar ( white)
2 tablespoons sugar
salt to your own taste ( probably less than a teaspoon )
Instructions
Reserve the seasoning packet from the package of noodles. Crumble the noodles ( uncooked, straight from the package) over the cabbage and onions in a large bowl. Add almonds and sesame seeds. Toss to mix.
Mix reserved seasoning packet from the noodles with oil, vinegar, sugar and salt in a jar with a tight fitting lid. Shake well. At least one hour before serving pour dressing over noodles and mix well. ( can be done the night before serving)
Yield: 4 servings. Prep time: 15 minutes.
