Homemade vanilla syrup by Powell family recipe book

Ingredients

2 C water 2 C sugar 1-2 Tablespoons pure vanilla extract

Instructions

Dissolve sugar in water over medium-high heat. Let simmer (light boil) for 3 minutes so it thickens. Stir while simmering. Remove from heat, add in vanilla. If it's the strong Mexican vanilla extract just 1 tablespoon if it's a cheap store bought brand, then 2 tablespoons.
