Sour Cream Spice Cake and Frosting by cpeirson

Ingredients

1 1/4 c brown sugar 1 stick butter Cake: 3 eggs 1 3/4 c flour 2 t baking powder 1/2 t baking soda 1/4 t salt 1 t cinnamon 1/2 t allspice 1/2 t nutmeg 3/4 c sour cream 1 c chopped nuts Frosting: 1 lb powered sugar 1 stick butter 3 T sour cream 1 t vanilla 2 squares unsweetened chocolate 2 T butter

Instructions

Cake:
Cream sugar and butter until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices...adding alternately with sour cream. Stir in nuts. Pour in 2 greased and floured 8-9" baking pans. Bake 350 30-35 minutes. Cool and frost with Sour Cream Frosting.

Frosting:
Mix powdered sugar, stick of butter, sour cream and vanilla; beat 5 minutes. Frost and spread over cake. Melt chocolate with 2 T butter; mix throughly and drizzle over icing.
