Cranberry Apple Crisp by
Source: 365 Days of Slow Cooking
Ingredients
7 tart apples (such as Granny Smith), peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup fresh cranberries
1 Tbsp minute tapioca
1/3 cup white sugar
2/3 cup quick oats (or if you prefer you can use rolled oats)
2/3 cup Grape-nuts cereal
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
Vanilla ice cream
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples, cranberries, tapioca and white sugar together. Layer in the bottom of slow cooker. (I used the crock shaped like a casserole dish but you can just use an oval slow cooker if needs be).
2. In a separate bowl, add the oatmeal, Grape-nuts, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter. Use a pastry blender to cut the butter into the mixture. The butter should be pea-sized when cut in properly. Sprinkle the mixture over the apples.
3. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2-3 hours or on LOW for 3-4 hours.
4. Scoop a serving into a bowl and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
