Granny's Hot Pepper Relish by
Ingredients
1 cup - hot peppers
4 cups - sweet bell peppers
14 medium onions
1 quart - white vinegar
4 cups - sugar
2 Tbsp - salt
Instructions
Chop all ingredients in food chopper/grinder.
Pour boiling water over mixture and let stand 5 minutes.
Drain and cook about 25 minutes. Do not add water and keep stirred.
Pour into sterilized pint jars and seal. (I suppose the seal is created as the mixture cools and creates a vacuum because it does not say to put it in a water bath)
Makes about 8 pints
* I remember Granny putting the lids on the jars and loosely screwing on the rings until the mixture cooled, then she tightened down the rings.
