Texas Cake by
Ingredients
Cake:
2 sticks butter
1 cup water
3-4 T. cocoa (heaping)
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup buttermilk (or sour cream)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Frosting:
1 stick butter (melted)
4 T. cocoa (heaping)
6 T. milk
1 pound powdered sugar
1/4 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
1 cup walnuts (chopped)
Instructions
Cake:
Melt butter, water and stir in cocoa over low heat.
Pour this mixture on the sugar, flour mixture, stir and add.
Stir in remaining ingredients and beat until smooth.
Bake in 12 by 17 in. sheet cake pan for about 15 minutes at 375.
Frosting:
Combine ingredients.
Frost cake immediately after removing from the oven.
